CFI Driver's What's Your 20? (2017 edition)

geez sounds like a mess today but part of trucking time to sleep and start a new day

 

It never ceases to amaze me how everything that costs us time and money is usually caused by someone that is home while we are working, off while we are burning down our 14 clock, , and don't even know that what they did impacts us. I don't mind going the extra mile to solve a problem for the customer, but the person that caused the problem, either isn't told they caused the problem or don't care because it don't cost then anything.

Solution, charge the driver that dropped the bad trailer $25 , and buy the driver that solved the problem a gift card.

Charge the planner or csr for not providing a load with directions and working phone numbers, give the money to the driver....I could go on, but you get the point. I wonder if anyone in the big house reads these brilliant thoughts. Quite constructive if I do say so myself.

I’m telling ya. Get a box fan and hang it up like I did. It sucks the air right into the truck. It’s nice as heck. I’m in Memphis right now. Truck fixed and at the terminal. Gonna go on the board around 3 or 4 am. I like starting early so I don’t have to worry about parking in the evening.

 

That's how I like to run, and my fleet manager seems to oblige. Gonna miss the little fellar when we go to a team fleet manager. Hopefully they are just as cool.

 

Why would a fleet manager care? It’s no different than buying a tv and hooking it up to the outlet in your truck lol.?
