This is very important. If anything happens you'll want to become a pro photographer for a while. Take tons of pictures and the company and their insurance provider will be very happy.
Hit and run.

I hit a deer once and tore off one side of my hood. The first thing the insurance company asked was if I got PICTURES of the deer. Not only did I get pictures of the deer remains, I got pics of the poop, hair and blood, the highway, the lane of travel...etc. "Whoa...case closed!" is all they said to me.
The insurance companies will ask you to make a statement. You want your pics to tell the exact same story. Consider it to be an investment in yourself. No, you wont get fired or anything, but see insurance agents are desk jockeys also. Desk jockeys all gauge truckers by the least common denominator, namely the dumbest moron to ever drive a truck. Years ago, we had those cheap disposable carton cameras that we would have to send in. Now every smartphone has a camera where you can take thousands upon thousands of pictures...which we can send in to our safety depts, insurance companies and keep them for our own records. Just in case.gentleroger, AModelCat and Tb0n3 Thank this. -
For some reason I thought this thread would be about an interaction with a lot lizard.
Ozark still issues the carton cameras to every driver. They do not accept digital images. These can be claimed to have been edited. You can't edit an analog photo on film.Smalltowniowa and AModelCat Thank this. -
My 1st time ever parking at Truck stop I got dog tailed hit and run
From now on if I have to stay at a truck stop it is nose in.
Let em hit the trailer. Plus it’s easy to pull in and easier to back out in the morning when everyone is gone. But I only pull 40 foot milk tankers. -
Where would you even get the photos processed these days? I haven't seen a place that advertises film development in a very long time.

Walmart and Walgreens as well as numerous mail-in processors. There are still some people who will only shoot on film. We are the same way. Only instant film cameras for accident documentation

When I have to park in a parking spot I take pics of the trucks parked on each side of me.....just in case.
Pumpkin Oval Head Thanks this. -
If you were hit during your rest and both trucks beside you are gone, how will you know which one did it? Or another truck who came and left after them? Who is the culprit?
-
Want to bet? Cost prohibitive for most drivers but it could be done.

24-30 hours logged in the sleeper will set off red flags for log falsification.06driver Thanks this.
