Hey guys, would any of you be willing to call my company and tell them how courteous and safe you saw me driving? Need To get my points up BADLY.
Lepton1, ThreePedals, scottied67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not doing it. I’ve seen too many Toonces videos to know I don’t want to be party to any lawsuit.IluvCATS Thanks this.

I love my “front facing” dashcam!

Yep: you are right; but; it’s hard to ALWAYS be in the offense “avoiding “ sometimes, I get sooo pissed off about having to ALWAYS do that! Ugh

A guy I work with almost got stuck with a red light camera ticket that one of the night drivers got.
The reason?
It happened on one of the main drags through his territory.
Basically, even though the time stamp said 3:00 AM, they just didn’t feel like doing the leg work to see who actually got the ticket.gentleroger Thanks this. -
When that happened to me I was livid. To be fair I was the active driver logged in, but at the time we could only log one person in (Thanks Oracle for making great software). Trainee had been driving, I told him to slow down because the "prepare to stop" lughts start flashing. Trainee ignores me, then ignores me again when the light turns yellow, finally touches the brakes when it turns red, but we're going thru no matter what.
Trainee got a bus ticket off my truck, I documented everything , then 6 months later my pay gets docked for the red light camera. Took getting a division manager (the boss og my boss' boss) before I got my money back. -
Update:
Matter has been resolved and points dropped upon further review. Like I said before SWIFT has been good to me. Also it helps that I did all I could have done given the situation. However, had I failed to maintain proper following distance if given the opportunity this would have been a different outcome. Thanks for the sound advice on being persistent and explaining what I did right and could do better next time.Lepton1, d o g and gentleroger Thank this. -
Actually the points were assessed automatically by the motion sensor. Any hard brake or hard turn will kick it off and the Swift camera will record about 15 seconds before and after the event and send it to Safety for review.ThreePedals Thanks this.

That's good news!
Always learn. Always review your day of driving and think of how you can improve, especially your decision making.
After reading your description of the incident my first question is why did the car have to pass you on the right? Did you have plenty of opportunity to get into the right lane? Were you traveling at least the speed limit in the middle lane?
If you were camping out in the middle lane at less than the speed limit, that's a problem. You are blocking the flow of traffic. Find every opportunity to help other drivers, ESPECIALLY other truckers, get around you easily and safely. That goes a long way towards reducing road rage. Stay in the right lane as much as possible. Camp out in the middle of of three or more lanes only if you aren't blocking the normal flow of traffic, meaning that your governed truck can still go a tad bit faster than the right lane.Numbnuts69 Thanks this.
