I remember reading that way way back, but few months ago someone brought it up and their coordinator specifically told him that wasn't an option, there was some confusion if I remember right because he originally said booked...but like I said upthread I've tried it and it error messaged me....

This is identical to how I do it on the flat side. I don't care if its "ran" the board or not, nor do I ask them that. To be honest I cant remember the last time I've called on a load and the agent says "you gotta wait for it to run the board". Lol.
I think a lot of the time the agent doesnt even care about board position. They have a load they need moved and they have me on the phone wanting to move it. Sold!!!!!spyder7723 and thaistick Thank this. -
I think that's how it works also. I don't think I've ever had an agent tell me that the load has to run the board first and it's not my job to make sure it's ran the board.spyder7723 and JonJon78 Thank this.

I thought that board position only mattered if you are empty???
I'm like you, I just call and say is xxx to yyy still good for Thursday??? -
It does. Inbound trucks it's first come first serve but the empty trucks have dibs over inbound trucks.thaistick Thanks this.

So, how do you find out what position you are on the board ?
-
another question, is it better to deal with the agents and then give your coordinator a heads up? Since I just started here I’ve been heavily relying on her to steer me straight
-
I do both some times I make the deal with the agent then give my coordinator a call to let them know what’s up and give him the new direction and sometimes I’ll call him and get his advice on loads in areas I’m not familiar with running lately
-
If you are on a load or dispatch you will see inb on loads your coordinator settings are matching you with if you are empty you will see a number instead of inb remember anything you are not match to your coordinator will not see So if you are seeing a bunch of loads you think you might like that are not match to you you might want to discuss it with your coordinator and have them change up there setting to fit what you want to run
-
Also keep in mind some Coordinators look for just the best paying loads others just want to keep you moving and some others like to keep you in areas they know well play with the board drop different city,s in with a300 mile DH to see how much freight is around them and what the going rates are
