Schlumberger's trucks have a single 100 gal tank. Not very fun

yeah these days whether it be a truck or a car you have some lea way when the needle hits the red or empty cause the manufacturers know so one will always test the limits my car for example when it goes in the red zone a warning chime will come on and the screen will say you have x amount of Kilometers to go usually 80 km. With truck fuel tanks when i wan't sure of the correct levels i'd also search out a branch or stick of some kind long enough to reach the bottom of the tank and take a dip. Then estimate how much i thought was still in the tanks. Currently the KW 610 i drive has two 470 litre tanks the total being 940 litres which is about 248 gallons.

I had to drive a new cement mixer truck from Dallas to Las Vegas and back for a truck show once for Navistar. One 40 gallon tank. I had to stop a lot!

I assume the truck was empty. Imagine how painful fueling might get if you were hauling a full load. Especially considering that you also have to power the rotation of the mixer as well as the road miles.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

It was not empty, there was water in the mixer to add weight to the rear end. It was a full blown show truck and every time i stopped for fuel i drew a crowd. Got many offers to buy it.

    Lepton1 and Farmerbob1 Thank this.
