Hello everyone
After about three years as a company driver, if you follow all the rules have a clean license get certain bonus. How much can you make week or month after tax?
Any input is appreciated!
Thanks

Depends on the company....TruckRunner Thanks this.

Everyone tax situation is different.... Your asking for the impossible

Depends on miles run and other perks. I work for a basic company. Nothing special. If I run hard I can take home $700 to 1000. Depends on traffic, breakdowns, shipping, etc. With elogs you have big problems. A two hour problem on Monday can screw up your entire week in some cases with scheduling.

After tax? Why would you ask that? I can tell you that 70-80k gross before taxes is possible after three years. I should make over 70k gross this year (my third year driving.) Possibly might even break 80k gross including bonus.
The state you live in makes an enormous difference for take home pay. Live in a state that charges no state tax, and you will take home a lot more than if you live in some insane place (like New York City) that you pay state AND municipal taxes. -
Take home 700-1000? You live on the road? I always take home at least $840, gross of $1020 minimum. Two weeks ago I grossed $1450 took home $1140, my most recent check $1350 gross took home $1075. Granted those were both 7 day paychecks and with some extras. I get supplemental pay for plant deliveries and supplemental for loading a trailer for another driver. The driver parks his rig at a farm near my house, I pull samples do a milk ticket and load it. It takes 1 hour get $25.
If all I do in a week is drop and hook 6 days I get $1020 gross and work 7.5-9 hours per day. I can make quite a bit more then that if I work and extra day and do some extra hustle.
My current ytd is over 35k.
I'm home daily I would never leave home for the same or less then I can make being home with my kids at night. I have realized I make good money for a home daily job.
I'm a milk hauler and yank tankersJohn A. Thanks this. -
I'll have whatever it is that put you into fantasy land.
Three years or thirty. Nothing will be bonuses. Maybe a few dollars in the name of safety or whatever. A pittance. You won't notice it in your pay. Inflation eats the rest.
If you want to max your take home, move to a tax free state to start off and live away from as many levels of taxation as you can stand, city govt, local etc. where possible.Rideandrepair and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -
If you drive for a mega... $50-$60k /year
If you get on with a good private fleet that delivers their own products and mostly brings back their own supplies, limiting B.S. time...
You can make very well.
$80, $90, $100k +stwik, Coover and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -
It depends on the company. In my opinion, if companies can’t even pay detention pay, forget about bonuses, quarterly bonuses and safety bonuses.
The households sector have a performance based and loyalty commission bonus. Before I became a Truck driver, I was a helper for a households goods driver that have been in that company for 20 years. I’m not sure about his cpm. Van lines drivers don’t drive a lot. They probably spend 2 days driving, and 5 days of hard physical labor, moving people in and out of houses. His hourly rate was $36 an hour. He was making 90-100k. After taxes? No idea. -
What type trucking job do you want?
Do you want to see the country or stay in the Northeast?
Another NYC cabbie's first job, got cdl last year, is hauling produce from California back to Hunts Point and has to be making good money doing that. I don't remember his screen name.
Too many variables to give an exact amount as to take home pay.
Calex Logistics does lots of California runs for produce, check with that company about average pay.
Millis Transfer maybe hires in NYC and their drivers post they have no problem making $50K+ their first year.
Plenty of choices for you.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
