It's nice when you pull I to that poorly lit fuel island that has a tight corner to get into. It may save your passenger side step from getting a dent.
I've noticed some people turn it so it points towards the back to aid them with blindsided backing...

It's helpful when backing and you have the trailer jacked very hard. It's helpful to see things like a fire hydrant just before you "back" into it with the tractor passenger steps.TruckRunner, DSK333 and Pumpkin Oval Head Thank this.
