Okay guys I have been flat bedding for 10 years, and have owned my own rig for 5 years. I have followed and always heard great things about MERCER so I am assuming I have got to be doing something wrong. I need to know how in the world I live in Chicago, which should be a large freight market, but when I search for loads I get like 9 loads in the city which CHI says half of those are no good, It just seems like all over the country things are slow when I look at our load board, but when I go to other load boards I find pages of freight including some loads listed by Mercer Transportation. I have run into a few old Mercer drivers that recommend I get my own numbers or go to Landstar, but I'm not ready to believe that's the answer. Is there something I am missing in the search field?? Is the company changing? All the shippers keep telling me they're busy as all hell, and I see flatbeds loaded and moving everywhere. Any advise or help would be appreciated.

I have the newer style old boxes that seal good. As pictured. The boxes I had on my Mercer trailer with that little black plastic ball thing at the bottom were terrible. I definitely do like the cam lock boxes though. Its tempting...
Did you check and see with Chris or measure to see would it be an exact fit or do you need new mounting brackets or to have the current brackets moved on the trailer? Obviously having new holes drilled or new brackets would add to the price...Highway Sailor Thanks this. -
Be honest the problem with mercer is it seems we don't take advantage of the spot market.. When the spot market was booming i mean customers paying great prices we still had some low ones.. Are you leased to mercer? If not those loads u are seeing are loads mercer drivers turned down. I Won't say anything bad about the CHI Office but the loads they get are cheap or the customers just suck... I Don't even return the CHI calls anymore before i look on the load board to see what they are calling on.flatbedsv77 Thanks this.

I know what your saying. I never had problems with box latches like I have had with this mercer trailer. I'm wondering if you look at suppliers in Canada you may get a better deal. I would say most of the Canadian drivers I have seen have the cam locks on their trailers. You may have to pay a tariff on them.back street slider Thanks this.
