Curious if it is possible to bring home after taxes $1100 a week (Northeast Flatbed Regional) with WE?

    jeff18 Thanks this.

I really like this guy on YouTube. Here was his recent appraisal of Western Express.

That's a flatbed tractor hooked up to a van to keep the guy rolling. 1000 mile drop and hooks. They sacrificed a lot of fuel economy to keep that driver happy. People bash without considering everything. You got a fleet manager, a smart and resourceful driver, and you got loads. That = $$$. End of story.

After a certain point of experience, you should be worrying more about how much work you have to do to equal that $$$. I'm 15 years into my career. I have no interest in hustling.

2700 mile copper run with what 8 straps thrown? 1100 bucks in less than 5 days for a newbie? Oh yeah, terrible company. Terrible. I'm with a mail contractor now for $30. an hour. Thanks for the experience, Western! Had a lot of great times there.

I just don’t know what to say about threads like this. I know what my experience has been like. I can’t speak for everyone, but often I think the issues the drivers complain about are often based in them managing their expectations or an inability to compromise or understand a basic corporate landscape.

I’m a newer driver at Western. I’ve stayed out 4 months with some 10’s and 34’s at home. Doing my first hometime now. I work 7 days a week. I average 3000 per week. Western Express has supported me in training with training pay, and gave me a brand new tractor for my first vehicle. I net between $800 and $1000 per week. I’ve had weeks that we’re less because of when loads deliver. Of course the following week was larger.

I’m open with them, I’m honest and I deliver on time. They’ve never given me a load that wasn’t doable time wise. They’ve never asked me to violate any DOT or HOS rules. To the contrary they are very careful in not doing that.

I mean there’s so much that they do that I consider normal I don’t know where to go in this format.

Of course the CPM is low. I’m new and I will earn a higher rate in the future here or elsewhere. Experience is what I’m really making, but $800-1000 is nothing to turn your nose up at as a newer driver. You supertruckers can.
