You mentioned wind. I drive an international and have had the wind rip the door out of my hand while I was getting out and slammed open so hard that it sprung the hinges. Had to adjust it back in so it would close. Stealership probably does that a lot on these trucks.....

Sometimes you can look inside the latch on the door and see a lever/latch with a gap behind it. The gap bieng where the latch on the cab would be if the door was closed. Stick a screwdriver in the door latch, pull on the door lever like you would when opening the door, then use the screwdriver to pry the latch back open.

Sometimes the door latch will "lock" on to nothing if the door is almosed closed and then opens just before it is completely closed.

Another possibility is hinge pin bushings if they door isn’t shutting even. That’s kind of a pain but easy to fix if you have a spring clamp thing

Also carry some graphite to spray inside your door locks. Especially up in Wyoming. I always have two cans of liquid wrench in the dog box. I use it to keep the tandem pins loose and the fifth wheel lock pins from freezing up. I spray that stuff on everything.

I've had the wind catch my door a few times in my prostar. It bends the hinge mount out so the latch gets misaligned. The shop ended up replacing the hinges the last time and now it shuts perfectly.

Ya,just run your seatbelt thu the door handle and lock it.Wear and old black shirt and paint an orange diagonal line down it (so it looks like youre wearing a seat belt from a distance).
