Yeah,And most of us know that....

For a Family to Live comfortably- It Shouldn't take 2 incomes........

I Liked my Wife at Home Raising Kids,Cooking,Cleaning etc- Many others prefer the same........
No Guy wants to come home from work to a dirty home and Have to Prepare their own hot meals everyday.

Yes,It can still work with 1 income as Long as that 1 income easily covers those monthly examples.....

Now,There are probably many families that enjoy a second income to supplement the First........

To Me, Life' Is far more important than to have the entire family working, You Cant Keep Up with Things.

I'll get Home home and the only worries I'd Have are/were Fixing things around the House and making Time for the Wife/Kids.

Burning one on your time off doesn't make one a dope head. Just like drinking a few on the weekends doesn't make one a AA candidate.
Dope head verbage is so old school mentality.

World changes from a guy over 50 in age.

Let me just say that has to be one of the best if not the best numbers I've lately seen in this game of race to the bottom, especially from a FEDEX contractor. Big ups to ya. You are definitely cut from a different cloth.

Except the beer will be out of your system and not impairing your ability 10 hours later. Dope heads don't even realize they are still impaired days later.

Dope heads may sound old school. I know of no other word to call them they want to pollute their cognitive function because.......well I have no idea why people are so ###### afraid of reality. Drunks, dope heads, tweakers, opioid users (dont even get me started on the BS opioid epidemic. Screw emnif they over dose. Waste of fricking oxygen anyways) are all so weak they need a release from the world.

I vote we give them all they want, all at once. Dig a big friggin hole in Utah and fill it in as they drop. Then the little pansies went have to be bothered with the world anymore. And more importantly the world will not have wasted resources on them.

06driver the opioid epidemic is directly related to big pharma pushing synthetic opiod pain killers and people get hooked; even soccer moms. While it is easy to discount these people in society, it was pure corporate greed that started the whole thing rolling.

Wanna get drivers give us 389 pete’s with x15 motors,no governor,no cameras, lane departure,18 speeds, home every weekend,,benefits,w2’s,pay us at least .60 cpm practical miles(you know your getting 3 dollar a mile)and you’d have drivers lining up!Not really as complicated as these companies make it sound!

As someone working towards getting into the industry, there's a few things that I'm running into that may influence others to choose alternative professions...
Getting the coveted "class a cdl" and experience...
I have my permit, but getting seat time with someone that's knowledgeable and patient is a pain in the backside.
I'm reluctant to sign on with a carrier that wants years of commitment to help me get my license.
Truthfully, I own my own business, and have for 14 years.
I don't see trucking as my next step, but a means to an end.
To grow my business, I need that cdl.
To get that cdl, I need knowledge and experience, so I can operate safely.
No, I won't just hire a driver for my truck. I want the knowledge and experience to be able to properly support that side of the business properly, so I can tell the difference between someone telling truth and someone blowing smoke.
I really have no desire to be away from home for weeks on end.
I like my home a lot. It's my sanctuary from the #### heads I deal with daily.

I guess in summary, starting pay isn't horrible, but it's not real impressive. Growth opportunities appear to be limited at first look.
Regulations on the industry are pretty severe, way too many pitfalls and ways to get hung out, hosed, or downright screwed.
Personally, I don't want anyone up my backside, looking over my shoulder, questioning my every decision, telling me do this, do that, not that way, do it this way.
I'm a big boy, pretty sure I can handle things with a little bit of knowledge and experience to start me off right.
If we want trucking to be great again (cliché as hell, but accurate) as some claim, then one of two things needs to happen...
Drivers need to police themselves to weed out the turds fast, quick, and decisively....
Regulations and restrictions that impede a driver's ability to do their job need a serious reevaluation on cost vs benefit.
Just my thoughts on these things, friends.... Not necessarily gospel, but perceptions I'm getting as I start walking this road forward.
Stay safe out there. God bless you all.

I agree with you! Young people who choose this career give up any type of home life to do it! Sacrifice their family and relationships to do it.. why would you choose that at 20-25 years old???

Just because weed stays in your system for days and weeks at a time, that does not mean your impaired for the same amount of time. That's two different things. I totally agree that what one does omat home shouldn't be held against them. There is no difference between recreationally drinking, or recreationally doing any other drug. If alcohol is legal to use recreationally, why isnt any other drug? Alcohol is a drug too, a depressant to be exact, and if one is sitting in their living room, I dont see the issue.
