Nice, or strap a 4" PVC pipe with same set-up out side on side rails. Just sucks in blowing snow or rain.

If I was single and didn't have a house I would live out of the truck without a problem.
D.Tibbitt and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I did it for about 12 months you save so much on rent and utilities that's an extra $5000 per year that stays in your bank account plus went without a car so saving on fuel, insurance, registration our employer was ok with us driving around town (home base) with the tractor so i didn't need a car. And when i needed a break from the tin house i just stayed in a motel.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

After 7 long months of OTR mostly in the 11 west.. .My tolerance for living in the truck is declining rapidly.
Happy medium will be taking min 34s after 5 out with origin load in the same city.. Which I am doing now.
First step is buying a truck then an RV to live in. Living in the truck a little longer will afford me an decent RV and slightly used truck.. On credit anyway.. All within a year or so.. Not complaining at all.. Driving OTR has been a Godsend.
Potential to make 6 figures legally within a year after going o/o is insane. God bless the USA!Dave_in_AZ and dwells40 Thank this. -
Great way for a single guy to earn and save money .
CK73, BillStep and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I think the happy medium is by the casa about every week to 10 days as well.
But when someone posts that big number, the casa can wait.CK73 Thanks this. -
Windshield wiper fluid bottles. They are sturdy, have a big enough opening to not be annoying, and have a cap that seals well.

For the first 6 months I was driving I didn’t go home. Then I went home every two months for about another 6 months. Now I pass through every chance I get, but for a day or two at most every week or two. Rates out of Texas are terrible and I don’t like to sit for long. Personally it depends on you.
I know after about 3-4 weeks, I start making mistakes that were once minor but have started becoming more glaring. I have to park the truck and get out for a day or two, sometimes a week. Then it takes me a few days to rebuild the stamina to want to drive for 10-11 hours again.
Still the best job in the world. Hardly feels like work at all some days. Other days, it’s a slow and agonizing grind that makes me wonder why I’m not flopping whoppers instead. Then I go order a whopper and they ask me my name for the order and I spell it out for them. When I get the receipt, they have misspelled the name I just spelled out for them.
That’s when I remember why I’m on the side of the register that I’m on. So I get back in my truck and point it in a particular direction for another 600 or so miles and my life doesn’t seem all that difficult anymore.1029384746, Rattlayitdown, BillStep and 3 others Thank this.
