I am preparing a return to trucking. This was after a bad separation with my last trucking company, to which I threatened legal action, and might explain the following. I pulled my DAC report, after being off the truck for 15 months, and had a real big surprise...they did not report a thing! I only see one trucking job out of the two.

Is there a statute of limitations as it comes to companies no longer being able to enter information on my DAC report? I don't want these sneaky Pete gangsters to retro on me somehow after they start getting employment verification calls.

One other question: The first trucking company I worked for, they did include my start/end dates and job description. It doesn't include the trucking academy, theft/damaged equip, or drug testing information though. I called HireRight to figure out why, and I was given a half-hearted answer that nothing is there because I had done nothing that was reportable. Clean clean...though I am mystified by the lack of info.

You are probably just over thinking the situation.
Don't reveal anything about anything when applying for a new job.

    1. Like stated, not all companies use DAC.
    2. Go to a company that does not use DAC, it tends to be a better company anyway.

I hadn't thought of that approach. I am an honest person, and worry about being perceived as non forthcoming. Simply state that I quit the company and hope they don't somehow paint a different picture?

    Chinatown and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Keep the dated copy you just pulled that is clean put it in a sealed envelope and mail it to yourself.
If there is ever a time when a new perspective company says you got a bad dac report give them the unopened post marked date stamped letter and let them open it.
That way you could prove the old company was trying to harass you and keep you from getting another job.

AModelCat, drumchaos and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Why is everyone so worried about what is on a hire right report? Prospective employer will get the same info when they fax/mail a past employment.
