Anyone have information about the Home Depot local account in Westfield, MA..?
I am not interested in going OTR at all and wondering if this is a good deal. It's only $900/wk M-F drop and hook.
Schneider Home Depot out of Westfield, MA, any information?

Well, it's not bad money.
If they do it like they do it down south, you pick up the trailer from the DC, drop and swap at destination, rinse and repeat.
Home Depot usually has some pretty generous spots to drop off as well....that is to say, pretty easy.
I'd do it -
$47k per year is not bad money for a truck driver?
That's Terrible money
It be good money is if its 7am to noon- Monday-fridayDna Mach, slim shady and 06driver Thank this. -
Dude, I was making $15 an hour unloading trucks for Roadway Express in 1991. I am well aware of the current pay rates.
Some 25 years later, some guy thinks he's doing me a favor at $16 an hour.
I get it. But it is what it is. $900 isn't bad being home every weekend.
It's what the market pays. -
That's NOT what the market pays- Yeah for maybe your typical megas strongarming their drivers in believing a subpar 47k salary is sufficient today.
Your outta your mind- Linehauil guys by me turn 80-90k per year- local P&D 60-70k starting out.
And Yes,Home Weekends The only people paying Subpar are your Megas and 1099's and idiot startup carriers. -
I made $42k pretax last year. What’s the problem? Too many bills?
I also spent 3+weeks in Italy. Paid for it on that salary also.LoSt_AgAiN and Opus Thank this. -
Who in their right ‘effin would drive for less than 80k?? and in New England no less.
McUzi, stayinback, Broke Down 69 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That is the question in all this debate lol Even though I make substantially less. No way in hell would I work for my current wages in the NE. Forget about cost of living. Just dealing with the traffic deserves 6 figuresDna Mach Thanks this.

@JMaj
How much experience do you have? If you’re just strarting out 900/week to be home every day isn’t too bad. How close do you live to the DC?
I ended up covering some runs for a Home Depot DC when I was with Schneider, and it was like any other dedicated account imo. It’s nice that there is almost always a empty trailer waiting for you to hook to at the receiver, downside is they were fairly particular about appt times. I sat for 8 hrs waiting on a 400pm slot one afternoon, as they supposedly didn’t have anyone there to receive the trailer.JMaj Thanks this. -
Don't judge what others are making. Just worry about what YOU are making. I always tell guys that are looking for their dream job and they ask me what I think. I always tell them " What's the catch ". And there always is so don't be fooled. I also know the super truckers at the truck stop telling everyone that makes eye contact with them how big their check is. yada yada yada. Truthfully I could care less what you make.
I used to work for JB Hunt on their Home Depot account in Pittston PA. I hear Schneider is taking their CT stores up in MA. Easy job. I don't know what you are looking for but if it feels right give it a try.91B20H8 Thanks this.
