This is the proper way to unload glass

Notice how much glass flexes when they lift. It's weird to watch from the top of one of our ladders on our double drops.

So do you guys have a ladder separate from the trailer or is it like Maverick where it’s built into the trailer?

On our double drops, ours are step ladders bolted to the deck at the bottom that pivot, so they lean against the A-frame at a good angle when needed, but lay flat on the deck while rolling. But they are regular ladders instead of the stairs like Maverick. Our flat and single drops just have a small regular ladder tied in the nose.

Several of those guys have limited safety equipment on. And how do they get the tractor/trailer out of there, without driving through glass?

There is a bucket from a front end loader to the left. They probably scrape as much as possible away from the trailer. We drive thru a lot of glass at deliveries. I try to buy boots with thick soles so I don't get cut if it penetrates.

The guys working there stood back while they dumped, but you'll notice, when that 1 piece of foam fell to the bottom of the glass, they didn't walk in front of it to retrieve it.

The one plant I live loaded at in Wichita Falls had about a foot of glass on the sides where I dropped the belly tarps. You had to watch where you stepped so you didn't cut your tarps to shreds.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Check out 511 boots they have a layer in the soles that arent supposed to be penetrated by nails or glass if stepped on. I forget what its called but they are good boots.

As long as there is a safety toe option, that sounds exactly what I need...I'll check them out.

Yes they call them composite toe instead of steel toe. I use them for disaster relief work and habitat for humanity work.
