The insurance scams always start with that one vehicle creeping down the left side eyeballing you seriously heavy in your own mirror. When you have 4 people packed into a tiny Rabbit (VW of the 80's) who are also very interested in your situation as you drive making eye contact etc. You do whatever you have to do to end the situation before it blows up into the predictable panic stop and force you into abusing your tractor trailer load, leading to additional problems with company after your computer has been lit up and sent a whole bunch of call home messaging. (Because you had to abuse the truck to not hit these people)
That's why I require three things. FIRST a big assed hood tractor. A 84 long hood freightliner comes to mind. They have ElToro engines that are rip snorting and pretty good for what they build em for. (Yesterday's version of the SD-122 version I love so much) And if you have a rockwell manual you are good to go.
The second thing is a older video camera of crappy refresh rate, call it 15 or so. Black and white is a must. Into the rising sun even better. What a shame that they build our roads to have such wonderful bright day time driving. And so on.
A third item. Every car encounter should include about a 30 rpm drop that is easily recovered with a adjustment in fuel, adding power. It's such a difficult time in life to take care of these things trying to resolve permanently the stupid insurance scam cars without hurting or killing them. Such a waste of our grand visions of safety first and so on.
4th, here is a cookie. IF you are puzzled still by the third item, message me and I will be happy to explain it to you.
Wowowow .... reality check me then!

I have a bunch of home time coming soon. But regardless, this was a wake up call to tighten up my driving. I've always been a safe driver but lately have been slacking. I love driving so I'm not trying to lose my job. This didn't necessarily have anything to do with my attitude out here, as I enjoy everyday out here. Home time won't fix this, I just need to re-adjust my driving style.
I wasn't brake checked. Rather the driver made his pass and then decided to "cruise" down about 10mph slower than what he was doing as he passed me.
Agreed 100% with you though. I was being an idiot and was fortunate enough to end up without a fat citation and possibly lose my job, or worse. I needed a slap in the face.Midwest Trucker, shatteredsquare, Lepton1 and 4 others Thank this. -
I think your clue catcher is broken

It wasn't an attempt at an insurance scam. I think my first post may have made it sound like I was brake checked, I wasn't. The car simply let off the throttle after he passed in front of me slowing me down. I became impatient and got in my feelings and came this close to possibly losing my job due to unsafe driving.
This is kind of why I decided to post this. I know you were just joking, but at the same time I know how it feels obviously. I'm here to tell you it doesn't pay! Keep on being the professional cause like someone posted on here luck runs out eventually.Lepton1, Deere hunter and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Oh I know that... Which is why I scream, yell, and generally throw a tantrum in the truck. But the body language (rarely) doesn't go crazy when something goes on.
Most times I just hit the brakes and let the those folks get by me. But unlike some people here, not including yourself, I'll freely admit that I've done these things also.
... and I pretty much guarantee that the people posting on this thread have done it as well, even if they don't want to admit it openly.
I'm just saying what we all think sometimes. Nothing more, nothing less...Dumdriver, Slim51, Deere hunter and 4 others Thank this. -
From reading your initial post. All I have to say is on well that's trucking. Sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug.
Move on nothing to see here. -
I appreciate the clarification. I understand better. Ive been in a situation so much that it's just unwelcome and continues to be.
The Professional is not me, one who hasnt lost it yet and gone postal. Ive killed a thousand idiots as far as the trees were listening me tell it to them. But I try whatever I can do to get it out of the system and literally forget it. that started way back in Grade school about the 4th grade when one of us thought he was going to be the toughie and all that. (Bully) he must have thought that somehow he can sharpen his teeth on little me. (Emphasis on little I think I wasnt 80 pounds yet...) However he learned not only that I can and enjoy fighting, but I can hurt him a little bit and then twist the knife further against him when Principal asks who threw the first punch? I told him if you have been listening to my counsler about this bully you would know it's not me that did it, Im not big enough for that. But I certainly got mad enough to finish it. Bully grew up to be a wonderful classmate years later. No complaints.
Fast forward 5 decades I have to be careful these days even now I like that violence. But not too much lol. There are too many young ones out there who can wipe the alley these days with me. HA.... -
