Time zones

yup! thats what happens when you change time zones. you gain or lose a hour depending on which way your going. but since you pick up at home yard time, and unload on local time where ever your going, it can goof you up if you don't keep track .

 

Who cares about time zones, when I'm on day shift one day and night two days later. Just set the dash clock for home time and never set you logs by your (self adjusting) cell phone.

 

Gotten me in trouble a few times, mostly when I deliver right near the line for the time zone changes. My cell phone displays both Chicago and local time, so I'm always sure to look at the Chicago time for the logs. One time I called in to say I'd be about 15 minutes late, and was informed I'd be about an hour and 15 minutes late. I asked if he was sure, and he was. Not like it mattered, anyway.

 

I'm from Indiana and we're the worst. My county is on Central and the county to the WEST of me is on Eastern.

 

No matter where I load and unload I always have to work off of EST

 

Google "What time is it in Indiana?" and a school report somebody did on the subject comes up. That's right: it is so difficult to figure out that somebody did a report on it.

 

You have to log your zone, but if you del in central you have to del by their time zone...

 

I keep my truck time set on my dispatchs or log book time. My cellphone automaticly changes to match time zone changes, so it becomes my load / unload time. Has not effect on logging just on how tired the driver gets.
