I don’t doubt he was being pushed to run but by the same token inexperienced desperate drivers allow themselves to be pushed so that’s one reason I say inexperience played a role.
I never once considered it possible that he ran that sign intentionally. I always thought he was playing on the phone and they couldn’t prove it. If he did it on purpose....and well never know... then I’ll restate my previous position that “life of another person has no value” to these people

I think the most important thing we all need to take from this tragedy is that the "professional driving" industry itself needs a wake-up call. Not only does it need a wake up call over the massive flood of poorly-trained immigrant drivers coming in and making the roads a much less safe place to be, but companies putting these drivers out there with little to no training and telling them "go make us money!" need to be held more responsible for when they do #### up.
I'm not big on government overreach, but this has gone too far now.Cookiedeluxe, Canadianhauler21, Phantom Trucker and 4 others Thank this. -
Good call snow monster I never heard that song before

They’re on the radar for sure. Do a google search on the words truck, driver, sentenced, killed, ontario and I think you’ll see a pattern developing.Phantom Trucker and Zeviander Thank this.

there are a lot of old goats who want to argue that if they want to run 36 hrs straight they should be allowed to because they say they can- although no one in his right mind really wants to do that. my own instructor "bragged" he did a run like that. folks will play that game like a rite of passage into the world of trucking.
but Siddu, in my opinion found himself in a hell he wasnt prepared for, dancing to the devils tune- going from 105kph+ to stop then all the way back up to speed, do that enough times in a day and your day is that much longer. So, he blew the sign, there's no traffic out there- he gambled and many lost. The road is a gamble: someone smashes into you, something goes wrong, weather, a moment of distraction- everyone makes mistakes- this is why we have to make the effort to play safe as much as possible because stuff happens, and you never know. Keep gambling, it's russian roulette- there is at least one bullet- keep pulling that trigger and eventually you will lose. We all know that. How could he not know that ? he knew and did not care enough to stop for that sign- he decided to take that chance and because he was pleading his inexperience I call BS pointing out the number of new drivers running in NA.
it is not inexperience, it was carelessness.
