I agree with this. It's the guys that think they know it all and don't ask questions or take advice. I really don't understand. It's all part of learning.

I'm glad they changed that policy, otherwise I may not have had a chance for learning.

 

For the most part I have nothing bad to say about Mercer. With the few exceptions I have already mentioned, I think they're a pretty decent company.

 

I'm generally pretty happy here myself. Got a few complaints but overall its better than anywhere else i can think of. I just think there is room for improvement. Safety score is a good example of that. There is absolutely no reason we should have a worse record than other o/o companies like landstar, admiral merchant, bennett, greentree, etc.

I think there could be a better balance. New hire standards should go up, but in not advocating they go back to what they was. Personally i think just requiring a year of o/o experience would eliminate a lot of problems.

 

Do those companies have better scores? No way to know since the public cant see them anymore. Quick glance at reports and landstars violation % is better and admiral merchants is worse. I dont know what the size class breakdown is in csa though to know if were scored in the same group or not.

 

When I left Mercer, they treated me very well, actually called and ask me to empty my fuel card before dropping it.. And refunded a lot of money back on my license plate within 30 days of leaving. Then sent me an additional check the following spring on additional money that come thru.
I also gave no notice on quiting. Quit about 250 miles from the house.
Tried Landstar and regretted ever leaving Mercer so I came back and lost my old truck number but very happy here.

 

They used to. And it wasnt even close. But since the public can no longer access them anymore i haven't been able to keep track.

I nevet really got how landstar could keep such a better score considering how they also hire anyone with a pulse. Maybe cause most their new hires are power only in the van side? Idk.

 

Someone referenced quitting while you're home, that's cool but what about the trailer?

Well see how long it takes Mercer to release the rest of my money The way payroll stated it can takes Weeks 3+ to even get the rest of my money from my account. But maybe he was talking out his ### who knows. I Overnight all mercer stuff to do them. All im saying is if ur gonna leave do 2 things. Wait till your home and clear out all the accounts. I Don't think mercer should be turning off the E-logs but #### happens. Mercer should also fix(Which i was told they are) When u quit you can't do nothing on the load board. You can't send in any paperwork needed to be sent. Can't see what maintenance reports are missing and so on.I Can see search loads though lol
