Gotta love some of the calls I get on occasion here from Agents...
Calls me wanting to know if he can interest me in his $2.30 per mile 12 wide load going to Tucson, Arizona... But it doesn't weigh that much... LOL.
I'm sure he will find his sucker, just wont be me.
Unbelievable.stwik Thanks this. -

They most likely don't have a step available. They buy very few of them.
Edit to add: if the reason you aren't interested in a flat and only want a step is for easy drive on drive off freight thinking you would avoid tarping , you'd be better off at a different company. This won't be a good fit for you. Sure we have lots of easy no tarp freight, but not so much of it that you can run it exclusively. Especially starting out before youve had the time to learn the agents and their freightroshea Thanks this. -
Happy to tell why I do better than my own authority. Mainly liabity insurance, but lot less headaches and a really big discount on fuel and tires. We normally get 30+ cents back on fuel per gallon. My bridgestone steers run about 375 dollars. And lot other small discounts. Even the truck insurance was about half the cost.
For a guy running not running really hard, cargo insurance can be costly especially if you taking time off where as no cost when with a carrier. Also less required inspections from Dot to maintain higher CSA scores.roshea Thanks this. -
