I drain my “wet” tank every day, all day long. It’s a habit for me. Along as thumping all my tires and checking for any unusual fluids on the ground. Do this at every and any stop. But that’s just me, what do I know.

I purge the three tanks on my truck a few times a week. It’s very rare I have any moisture in them. The trailer tank squirts a little out when I grease it every other week. Probably helps to live in a dry climate.

Take a look at this as long as we are talking condensation. This is a mine where I worked some years back. They said the compressor wasn’t working very good. I went and popped the pressure valve to find this greatness.

If your air dryer is working properly you wont have any moisture in your tanks. Every time air dryer cycles it purges itself of any contaminants/moisture it might have.

You will still have some moisture. As temperature changes the air in the tanks will condense/expand shedding some moisture. Enough that you want to hit the purge valves once a day, but that's it.

Rig a bungee to drain water from air tanks? This has to be one of the craziest posts I’ve read in a while. Great advice lol

What if you never drain your air tanks? I have never, ever drained my tanks in my 6 years of driving. Heck, none of my trainers ever did. I know it’s in the CDL manual. So what could really happen? Or, could it be air tanks do it automatically?

All I can see is that there is power to that panel on the right. Freaking me out.

On a new truck, probably nothing. After 3,4,maybe 5-6 years and no maintenance to air dryer you will freeze up eventually.

What air dryers do you guys run. I have an ad9 and my tanks never squirt one drop of water and never shoot out and mist when I give each of my tanks a pull. Ever
