A mag drill makes it easier and faster, but its definately not necessary. I drilled 6 holes in my frame to move my fifth wheel slider on this truck right in the lot in Louisville with a little bitty dewalt drill.
The key is good quality drill bits, start small and step up gradually. Keep the bit cool by using oil.

 

And if you can find some tap Magic Cutting oil works even better

Just wanted to send a shout out to everyone that has been helping me out in making this decision smooth as possible. Day 1 of orientation is down and truck and trailer is stickered up. A lot of good information and I can say even though it's day 1, I believe I've made the right decision.
