At the last minute switched from van division to flatbed division. Why? Mainly due to rates, which are more appealing to me. Its what I wanted to do in the 1st place, but figured since I had just went out and bought a brand new trailer less than 6 months ago I would do van.
Everyone here makes you feel like family.

You should set to an account at KW. I have a cash amount with them that saves me a little when I buy parts. I paid $3 per shock more at KW than I would've from Amazon.

I think that number today doesn't really represent their hiring standards. If a driver has the required experience and a clean MVR they get approved. We all know there is a lot of drivers that don't have a clean MVR and for some reason a bunch that don't have the experience still try. Lol. So I bet the % of "qualified" drivers that make the cut is closer to 90%.
They don't do the $350 escrow anymore. Or at least they had stopped it when I went through orientation.spyder7723 Thanks this. -
That's been my benefit from leaving also. Freight in my area wasn't any good, if it existed and I was having to stay out for a few weeks at a time. I do miss some things at Mercer but no way I could do at Mercer what I'm doing now.
But it's 1 pick, 1 drop...
I was at Mercer until the 1st of August last year and then I made my switch. Pulled my first load for my new carrier on 8/10/18. Only ran 2 loads the whole month of December and I still made $3000 more at my new carrier than I did at Mercer and I've only worked M-F since September. I pay 10% of revenue to run this guy's numbers. I pay for every expense that I would if I had my own numbers. Through him my liability and cargo is about $12,000 a year cheaper than what I can get it for being a new authority, I have access to the same tire discounts I had at Mercer, and my fuel discount at TA/Petro is just as good. I don't have anymore hassles than I did at Mercer but I basically pay 10% for an office staff to assist me. If I could run the way I do now and be leased to Mercer I never would've left. -
Seeing your last few posts, I guess you're taking over for Pete.Richp89 Thanks this.

Waz Up?
LOL, well looking around I see some old and new faces. But hello to all.
@TruckerPete1990 @RStewart hope your new adventures treat you well.
@spyder7723 and razor (can't remember how to spell your nickname lol) it was great hearing from you two. I said I would get on here and say hi sometime. All it took was me working a weekend. Of course I was off for the last 8 days.
I think it was @mtoo last year that mentioned now that I moved to TN I would start making the real money. What he failed to mention was that I would only be working 3 or 4 days a week and home almost every weekend.
Anyhow, how's everyone doing?TruckerPete1990, mtoo, thaistick and 2 others Thank this. -
Good to hear from you too.... miss the PNW yet?CJndaTruck Thanks this.
