Northern Star Trucking (aka Ugarte/Diamond/Qori) - SLC, UT

They are a contractor for FedEx Ground and they SUCK!

First 8-9 months, they treated me well. $2000 sign on bonus, $0.51 cpm, dedicated route, promises of 2-3 cents per mile raise annually.

After Jan 1st, they didn't give me the raise I was promised, truck broke down in KC for 2 days (a truck I flew out to pick up for them as a favor) and they didn't pay me a dime for those 2 days. Picked up the truck from the shop in North KC, and it derated 23 miles down the road.

They jipped me on my vacation pay. Was supposed to be $1,443, instead I got $1,270. Out of the blue they took me off my run for no reason. No explanation was given and I was stuck on the extraboard. After 2 weeks on the extraboard with zero runs, I filed for unemployment and cleaned out my truck. Found another job.

They fired another co-worker without cause a few weeks before they put me on the extraboard and they screwed him around on his raises and vacation and vacation pay too.

They run out of SLC but have trucks and routes out of Denver too. Beware if they offer you a job. All peaches and cream the first 8-9 months, then they treat you like yesterday's trash after that.
