Maintenance escrow accounts in lease-purchase situations are typically mandatory, often funded from settlements on a per-mile basis to account for variability in weekly mileage.
These escrows are meant to protect both the carrier’s and the lease-operator’s investments in the truck.
At the end of a lease or in the event of cancellation with a 30 day notice, the funds remaining in the maintenance escrow should be refunded to the driver.
However; ASE retains the balance.
This is an unscrupulous and illegal business practice that robs drivers of their hard earned money.

SCAM ALERT!
If you receive a call and the number that shows up on caller ID is similar to your own number, it’s likely a robocall scam.

By the regs a company has 45 days to refund escrow funds collected. Of course you may have signed your escrow away. Did you read your contract yet?
