Before hitting oncoming I would have put Hogaboom and his stupid RV so far out in the weeds it ain't funny.
Hogaboom now drives for Swift. Kinda says it all.

I worked a fatal collision where a woman went off the road and ran over 2 professional cyclists. She was on her phone, speeding and a few other things. She was in a company vehicles and was one of the worst fatalities I ever worked.
Had more than enough evidence to charge her for vehicular man slaughter. Well she was found guilty and the jury apparently felt bad for her and found her guilty of the lesser included charge of reckless driving $600.00 and 6 points.
But the company was sued by the family for a total of $40 million. Sometimes money is what makes you wonder about actual justice. -
The fact that he's employed as a driver might say that things didn't really go down the way it's been presented in this article and in this civil suit. Who hit who and where etc. is objective fact. The reasons...excuses...the diffusion of responsibility... that's a lot murkier.
-
You are quite correct. I'm guilty of taking the story at face value.
Have had it done to me before, so I jumped to conclusions.
On the bright side, I just got out of jury duty... -
The fact that he's employed by swift shows they have no standards..he should have had his cdl revoked
-
Right, because if they had any standards they'd be peering years into the future and making hiring decisions based on testimony from whatever civil suits they come across there.Last edited: May 22, 2019

Drivers should take note of this incident of what happens when you get into a **** SWINGING MATCH with ANY VEHICLE,let alone a semi tractor trailer!
The lack of common courtesy and more importantly,COMMON SENSE costed an innocent woman her life, through no fault of her own!
What these drivers did was nothing short of despicable as well as reckless! In fact, I wouldn’t even call these ***clowns drivers! I wouldn’t even call them steering wheel holders because they don’t even deserve to be called that term!
Sending them to prison is too good for them,
hanging them is too good for them,
WATERBOARDING is too good for them!!
I wouldn’t trust these morons with a TRICYCLE, or anything with wheels because they’re liable to cause a fatal wreck with that too!!!tinytim, Double Dime, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this. -
I’m retired as a collision reconstruction State Highway Patrol but still do in my PI business. My wife has been pulled for jury duty all the time but never makes out of the first hour though. She actually wanted to sit on a jury lol.

I was elected foreman of the one jury I was ever on. We convicted a 15-year-old girl of abusing a 6-month-old infant she was babysitting. That trial was in 1996. I still remember the names and the photos. I'm kind of inured to that sort of thing because I was a paralegal who did accident cases and had seen lots of gory burn and crash photos and even some murder scene photos before that. But burns on a baby's feet are a different kind of awful.
Tell your wife not to wish for that too hard. She might get some memories she doesn't really want. -
Man I have worked so many fatalities and didn’t blink a eye until I retired and now I can’t forget them.not4hire, tinytim, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this.
