There has been quite a bit of truck wrecks in Houston lately. But about 4 of them have resulted in fatalities. I feel the dot will crack down on trucks soon.
Bud A. and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
Well that is a debbie downer. Rip

Another case to where the parents use seat belts but refuse to buckle up their kids or use safety seat as required.

Been here a month from Honduras. Doubt they had a clue about interstate driving.
miszel, Bud A., buddyd157 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Looking at that car, I don't know if a seat belt would have saved her.
-
Pfffft! If the cild is bored, they will unbuckle and get out of what ever restraint they had. These newscasters probably have never had kids.haz-matguru and The Gels Thank this.

Exactly! I grew up before seatbelts were required, as I'm sure most people on this forum were. I remember opening the car door and falling out while my mother was making a turn, rolled out into the street. Pickup had to swerve to avoid hitting me. Kids screw around in vehicles. They'll unbuckle themselves, open doors, mess with things, etc.jethro712, Grumppy and lovesthedrive Thank this.

sheesh, cars back in the day had nearly a 100% metal interior, like dashboard, window sills, etc...
AND NO seat belts..>!!!!!!
just look at any old timer with Ford or Chevorlet imprinted into their foreheads....allniter and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
As a kid, we knew better. If we unbuckled, a whooping was guaranteed...it just wasn't worth it.
Parents need to try parenting once in a while, rather than allow the kids to run the show.
