You guys think the rates are bad, i was able to look at amazon load board today boy oh boy are they hauling cheap freight.
Average I seen is $1.20 per mile in the south west region.
Some are $1.40-1.60 and barely any $2 per mile and that’s $2 going into a dead zone where you cane barely come out with a 1.05 per mile.
My dad was right.
With stupid people smart people cant get rich.
Why is everyone complaining about the rates?

Adjusting for the devaluation of the US dollar, the average local company driver made 4 to 5 times that amount per week in 1973. That's why people are complaining.
Dollars don't buy what they used to. Remember when you could fill your tanks for 20 bucks and get back change?6wheeler Thanks this. -
Here is the reason why I will never do long distance. If you want to drive across the whole country for $2 a mile, go right a head.
I'll take the 200 mile trip across the state for more than double that rate.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
You ain't lying there...trucking is not what it used to be & never will be again, being able to get someone on the radio for any info is extinct. Oh & your the idiot cause you only read, write, English...

Its #### brokers pocketing thousands of dollars per load. Those loads actually pay over 2.00 I'm sure6wheeler and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Just wanted to know how many of you guys are getting Subsidy's ? (enter sarcasm)...
rabbiporkchop and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
No they don't. Read his post again. Amazon is the "broker" or we should say these are direct from them. Their loads actually pay better when booked from other brokers. I wasted a couple of days of my life screwing around getting set up direct with them. Garbage rates and that was during peak season.whoopNride, Midwest Trucker and Rideandrepair Thank this.

I think Amazon will pay. I see a lot of JBH pulling their trailers. And I'll bet those boys aren't doing it for less than nar $4 mile.
Rideandrepair and Bakerman Thank this. -
I see a lot of owner operators between Phoenix and LA pulling those Amazon trailersRideandrepair, LoneRanger and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
