I say do exercise maybe join gym that you could attend at home and possibly nationwide. Park your truck close by and go to the gym at least once a week.

Assuming you are a male, hormones will be your biggest "bang for the buck" imo.

If it were me I would get my testosterone levels checked and consider hormone replacement therapy.

Also many times when I think I'm tired I'm actually dehydrated. I drink some water then magically the fatigue is gone.

Adrenal fatigue is also a thing, you might look into that.

At the end of the day, fatigue is your body telling you to rest, and your body knows that when you have time off its time to rest.

I did a 34 and yesterday I felt tired most of the day so I just chilled out. But if I was still running I wouldn't have felt tired. Funny how that works.

I am addicted to long haul.

It's really bad to sit on the Cross Bronx 3 hours just to get over the GWB. I cannot STAND IT. even though I spent my stupid life doing that. (It seems)

One thought I remember is everything has to be in order. The money, the items in your cab all in it's places and neat, the people in your life, your debts if any and prospects for food and fluids etc. Then you can just soak in say Steamboat in the rain and enjoy it. Paid to travel.

If you are mad at your dispatcher and wanna killim or something outrageous your day or night at work then your capacity for endurance with good morale etc is degraded. Even weather conditions could be the tipping point. Etc.

I hope the mods will be please to indulge in what I would say to go along with D.Tippet.

If you do not enjoy chasing the opposite sex in your younger years while you are pushing that big rig all over the USA too hard, then you need to take it easy a while. When the basic things that make you happy come back to you then you found your balance.

With that said, I remember one dispatcher who had me delivering overnight every night 600 miles after all day loading coils. I lasted oh... 4 months. One day I fell alseep under the mill crane as it wailed and drove along the building tracks with a big coil. The workers were yelling to get the eff out of that truck... I was gone.

After a proper chewing out, something to do with not being under large objects in the sky... I called my dispatchers boss and told him two sentances.

You get me a new dispatcher tomorrow sometime or this week. Or the truck will be turned in and Im taking a month off. You can decide if you wanna fire me or not. But it's happening.

    SILENCE.

    CALL ME tomorrow.

Apparently what happened in that office was a storm. I will never know what they said to each other but I had a new dispatcher that week and some time off.

I believe that saved me but that's team driver type work with that kind of schedules over a very long term. I was about had it with trucking in general that week. And it was real important to decide which way we are going in life after it.

Why? Burnout. Just like a rookie who does not know anything run into the ground. The difference is I stood up for myself. That one dispatcher I think hates me. But that's ok. It's only business. Not a Im a know you and move in with you or anything like that. ick.

BTW, That "Call me tomorrow" determined the rest of my life.

Try fasting if you have the will power. The more you eat the more sluggish you feel. Even just intermittent fasting. I fish 20 hours a day in Summers and eat one large well balanced meal a day. Sometimes I’ll fast 2 days straight. Energy levels skyrocket. Thats not just a personal opinion its very well documented and true.

Im still recovering from mine. I had the last 7 days that were difficult. I managed to get through it by sheer gumption and some onery language applied to the 4 walls.

I fell back to the good old fashioned roast beef shaved, piles of cheese, on buns seasame with taters and a few other things for lunch and aujus gravy to dip in. It's a VERY basic meal and THAT always put another thousand miles into me. It's like a personal popeye spinach, eat, wait a hour and go.

I had forgotten that particular meal. I put the deli to work slicing a roast this afternoon. We are going to celebrate french dip. As a medicine.

How long is your commute? Running daycab?

I wouldn't touch local driving unless I had a short commute. This is why I love OTR. The commute is one long step to climb into the office or one long step to climb into my man cave. If I get tired I can pull over, stretch out, and take a nap. Can't do that in a daycab.

    To each his own.

A few weeks ago I started a new job. I love it. Home most every weekend. Could be home a few times midweek if I didn't have to commute 90 minutes, so weekends it is until my wife and I get a place closer to the yard.
