    Point of Sale(POS), POINT OF BILLING (POB),Rebate/Discount,Cost +,cost,and cost-,Rack Price,Tanker Wagon price(wholesale),3rd Party card billing service (EFS;COMDATA) these are the terms that need to be understood before you can understand how they fall in place.POS is the pump price displayed on your fuel receipt,the cost is not paid by your large ATA fleets.The POB cost is paid thru direct billing,that actual cost is HIDDEN thru the 3rd party card billing service,which you will never see.If you are leasing to a Large fleets,They give you a 3rd party card(EFS,COMDATA,ETC),charge you for the pump price minus a small discount(wholesale price,maybe $.40)and then pay their discounted/rebate price which is less than RACK price,thus cost +,cost,or cost-.Now sue me if want Heartland Expess but I have the documentation and formulas to prove it or I wouldn't dare specify you, Heartland was paying $1.27/gallon when fuel cost per gallon was $3.02,this scam of hiding the negotiated actual cost(POB) thru 3rd party card billing service while charging the lessee the Marquee PRICE(POS) amounts to racketeering under the EXPANDED R.I.C.O. act.There you go Heartland,ATA large FLEETS,feel free to SUE,me,just remember you have all already filed your SEC audit documents,and I have the formulas to prove it,this is not a legal challenge or threat,it is not to be taken out of context to mean as such,this is my opinion only and I am 100% responsible for this content,Stay tuned next thread will show you how the DOE,EIA,AND the FUEL SURCHARGE is ARTIFICIALLY INFLATED costing every consumer to pay 4* what the actual cost is for groceries,all to collect more tax dollars.

    That’s nice and all, but all you had to say was “lease”.

    They’re all scams to a degree, some more than others.

    Imagine that. A large carrier not paying pump price. Who would have thunk it? :rolleyes:

    And a quick way to stop the carrier from making money off your fuel purchase (lease op or owner op leased to carrier) is to either get your own fuel card or don't fuel where they get the discount.

    Please don't take this the wrong way but of course.

    Anyone who knows anything about how corporations work knows that corporations always attempt to maximize profit by cutting expenses.

    Why then would mega-carriers, almost all of which are publicly traded corporations, insist that their fleet use only Loves, PFJ, or Petro/TA when there are mom and pop stores right across the street with fuel prices 30-50 cents (sometimes more) cheaper?

    Answer: Because they're getting rebates.

    Celadon got busted for it last year and had to pay back millions to its owner/OP fleet due to keeping as much as 50 cents per gallon.

    With all due respect, it would appear you’re just now getting educated. But, we thank you for bringing your new found knowledge to our attention.

    Maybe, you’ll be one of the few that learns their lesson the first time and we won’t see you in here 6 months from now complaining about another company scamming you.

    @Ljr
    How long do you anticipate creating these "educational" threads? I ask because, quite frankly, they're getting old.
