Does this all work into the low freight rates somewhat?
Or possibly why mega carriers are doing very well at killing independent carriers. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I like to be educated.

 

You’re missing the point. There’s nothing wrong with your educational messages. The problem is you’re preaching to the choir.

Would you go into a police station and exclaim “FYI everyone, there are people in cars that speed on the city streets! I’m here to see to it you’re all educated on it!”.

BTW, the fact there is a rebate/discount is not hidden. A specific discount to a specific carrier can be private and subject to whatever agreement was reached between the fuel retailer and the carrier.

The fuel surcharge (perfectly legal) is a way for carriers to forego changing their base rate, but still remain profitable when faced with fluctuating fuel prices.

The fact that a carrier might not pass on any fuel savings via rebate, or increased profits via surcharges, to their customers should not be a mystery either... it's called capitalism.

All you had to do was ask and you could have saved yourself 10 years of research.
