I would look for small companies.
Europeans preferably that run a few trucks. Are always willing to train as long as your record is okay and insurance accepts you.
Looking for advice??

tankers have schedules like everybody else.
-
Some do. Some don't.
I've never had a schedule. Neither has my brother in law -
Sounds like you need to sit down with someone who is actually in charge at your company. Talk about things and tell them how your feeling about how everything is going.
Your pay is very good. They are probably doing shorter runs because the longer doesn’t pay enough to be profitable with how high your pay is. I really doubt they are trying to get you to quit. I think you need to stick with what you got.asphaltcowboy4x4 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
With tankers I never had a schedule per se but at 6-8 loads in a 12 hour day you had to keep moving at a steady pace. But it's still better than tarps.

Sounds like they are out to get you. Just kidding!!! They’re giving you the crap runs because you don’t complain. Explain, don’t complain ( that phrase should be coined) , I’m sure they will appreciate it. Instead of doing like most, complaining and never speaking up. I’m sure they will work with You. Last thing they want is for you to burn out and quit. I guarantee you won’t be the first to be tired of all the tarping. As far as the goal being Wal Mart, I won’t comment, but OD sounds like a Winner. Easier to work with what you’ve got. It may take almost a year to get into groove at another place. Not worth it. Blink of an eye, 1 yr.

If you want to haul cars, don't think new, think used or damaged, you might not make as much money, but you can gain experience and not have to worry about dents and scratches, as much.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Freight rates have dropped a lot since 2018 so you may just be feeling the gravy train drying up like everyone else. The pie is shrinking which never feels good.
The most powerful leverage tool you have is a two week notice. Dont use it as a bluff either. shop around, find your next best option, talk to em and find your replacement job. Then tell your current job your concerns, that youve interviewed at company X but want to stay with current employer on some conditions. Now negotiate. But bewarned. If they offer what you want in exchange for more from you, dont agree if you wont deliver. Be a man of your word and do what you say youre gonna doPoacher Thanks this. -
