So the cop should have tased the guy? And if the taser failed, as they sometimes do, then the cop should have shot him with rubber bullets? And if the rubber bullets didn't stop the attacker, what then? The whole time the cop was under attack should he have been trying non lethal weapons? That's just insane. The cop was fighting for his life.
You're wrong, killing is okay when your life is threatened. The cop did the exact right thing.

hey, you forgot fire gun we just need stop when they see them rolling then arrest them and relieve yourself to put the fire out. I would make a terrible officer I know.

Remember these?
Took a tape strip of pop-caps and was super cheaply made. Out before they required orange caps on toy guns...Last Time Around, tscottme, Muddydog79 and 2 others Thank this. -
You get stabbed in the neck by a screwdriver and tell me you're responding with non lethal. You have one chance here, pick the wrong option you are dead. I'm unloading into the guy with my service pistol, exactly as happened. You meet deadly force with deadly force.dwells40, booley, MachoCyclone and 8 others Thank this.

Even worse, they were in melee range. If the cop tasered (which is less lethal, not non-lethal) the officer might have tasered himself too.
Plus, there is a reason that officers tend to have their belt setup to pull the pistol with their dominate hand. When literal seconds matter training and reflex needs to take over and the threat stopped. When there is the luxury of taking time to think then less lethal way can be considered.
Having just been stabbed with a screwdriver there is no way he had the luxury of time.booley, MachoCyclone, PoleCrusher and 1 other person Thank this. -
The officer took a screwdriver to the neck. And ur saying he has no right to defend himself?booley, MachoCyclone, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this.

guys I am not saying officer was wrong. I say non -lethal guns or other things must be used. Every day somebody get killed by police in USA. looks like non-declared war is going on here. I have my view on this case . If I would be the policemen I would shoot him once or twice and not 8 times. And I would shoot him below abdomen . I would like to see him in prison, spending long time there and not killed. Now you will say but he stabbed you by screwdriver. If you choose law enforcement be ready to take bullets , knifes and screwdrivers. I am sorry for young men was stabbed. It happened. that officer will live and remember that he killed somebody. It's not easy to live with that kind of emotional feeling. Again if I would be that officer I would do everything to stop him and not kill him.

The problem isn’t Google maps—it’s the driver. The driver needs to verify the route in a truck road atlas, or use a truck GPS and be alert for truck restriction signs.MachoCyclone and Doublewiggle32 Thank this.

You shoot to kill.Muddydog79, booley, MachoCyclone and 4 others Thank this.

The officer got stabbed in the neck and ended up in ICU at the hospital. I think I would have also shot him multiple times or until he stopped. I sometimes disagree with officers shooting repeatedly, but this case is acceptable to me.sawmill, Muddydog79, Humblepie and 4 others Thank this.
