A year ago, I was on I-15 stepping north towards Idaho Falls. I was a couple miles south of the scale thats to the south of Idaho Falls when I saw something peculiar. A CR English truck was sitting in the median with his left turn signal on. This guy purposely turned into the median!
I get on the radio, "Whats up English? Too good to use the entrance and exit ramps like everyone else?" Other northbounders chimed in, "Look at that dumbmash! He cant be a mile from the scale. Wouldnt it be funny if a DOT rolled behind him while he's in the median?"
Well, I lost sight of English and rolled up to the weigh station. It was open. I pull in and roll through. As I am coming out of the scale, that English truck is rolling past me in the hammer lane. He has 3 4wheelers and a bigtruck on his donkey. Suddenly, English hits the brakes and comes to a complete stop. 4 wheelers nosedive and that bigtruck starts to skid. The driver was furious, "English! What the hail are you doin? Youre going to get someone killed!"
English cross the bigroad to the southbound side right in plain sight of the scale. Southbound scalemasters came running out of the scale. Everyone in radioland was dumbfounded. I had never seen a bigtruck turn across the median in front of a weigh station before.
Why would a driver do something like that? My only guess is that English was stepping south and ran the southbound scale. Chasecar came out and got him, took his DL and told him to get turned around and come back into the southbound scale. This particular driver didnt have the graymatter to use the exits.
