I've been running like clockwork, and mostly covering bids this summer.
Right around 70 people underneath me and constantly climbing. It's just crazy.

How much longer before you hit the mark? Hell I would have never of thought of heading over there if it wasnt for the the UPS holiday temp pay thread in this section.FlaSwampRat and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

If you want to get on for sure spot the sleeper team is full time not seasonal. If you can handle teaming. I’m sure you can bid out of it when a solo opportunity pops up. But I’m not 100% might want to ask these Ups guys.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

Couldn’t pay me enough (even top rate UPS wages plus 50% and OT after 8) to team with another guy. They’d have to be offering top out rate just to get me to apply for that position.FlaSwampRat, SidewaysBentHalo, Radman and 2 others Thank this.

Accurate. Teams generally work 4-5 days per week. Highest paid people at any terminal by a wide margin, but.. as McUzi pointed out, the lifestyle isn't for everyone.Radman, road_runner, Bob Dobalina and 1 other person Thank this.

I've never done OTR and definitely would never do team. If there is anything I've learned about myself from Iraq is that I am extremely claustrophobic and I hate having to share a truck with another person.
Ten years ago to the month I did convoys in Iraq. I got into a fight with my old driver (I was the truck commander in the passenger seat) and I ended up teaming up with a good friend that I can handle in moderation. He had the same name as a very famous Hispanic comedian and he would not shut up. Not kidding, from Camp Arifjan Kuwait all the way up to Al-Taqaddum Iraq and back he could not stop talking. Even when I sat quietly for three hours straight, he could not find a way to shut up for 2 minutes.
By the time I got back I think I knew every single useless fact about him; down to what brand of dryer sheets he uses. I was ready to throw him out of the truck at one point and I was intentionally driving over random boxes on the side of the road in hopes it was an IED so I could get Med-evac back to Kuwait.
There is absolutely no way I could ever team drive with anyone after that. The Shadow, Bob Dobalina, jmz and 8 others Thank this.
