Don't mean to rub it in but, I am now headed on a relay to Church Hill which will put me over 11k paid miles for the month. It sure doesn't seem like it. Prior to going to Newfoundland I was doing 1 or 2 36 hr restarts a week for the last 5 or 6 weeks.

Did you still get your 1k salary?

Not going to lie, I’m worried about glass. I’m planning on going to Daseke or Maverick soon. I don’t have any bills but, that doesn’t mean I want to get trainee pay again.

Yeah there's guaranteed pay but when you're used to 1500-2000 a week that just doesn't cut it.

I can get a pretty easy local job and get 1k a week and not sit doing nothing 2000 miles from home getting harassed to wash a non moving truck for 0 pay.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Did my Spring Hill to Church Hill run, then picked up an empty single drop and took it to Laurinburg. Where I picked up my homebound load. It is suppose to deliver in Miami on Weds. But, with a Cat 4 hurricane inbound(according to the latest prediction, which has changed 3 times in 2 days), I am guessing it will be rescheduled.

We have 3 drop lots at the Church Hill facility, 1 is the shop, one is where we drop overflow empty trailers along with the Maverick trailers our loaders load, and the 3rd is a shared lot with Averritt. The overflow lot had 20+ empty double drops along with some of Wylie's trailers, and a handfull of empty single drops. The shared lot had about as many empty double drops, a bunch of empty single and flatbeds, and a few vans. There were also a bunch of empty vans sitting behind an out building in the plant's property. Seems as though Soring Hill and Laurinburg are our hotspots right now, we got a message from the Spring Hill planner this a.m. saying, it you're assigned a load out of Spring Hill, and it's ready, hook to it and go, we are out of parking spaces for loads.

Sounds like you started moving again once Wylie and Moore merged. You've done more miles empty than I have total the past 2 or 3 weeks.

Maybe Maverick is next on the list. Been doing more than my fair share of sitting around.

600 miles 2 days this week, sat stationary 5 days. 1 load a week seems to be the norm now. Good thing I got a load today just before they started up with the "wash your truck" bs again. It's kind of hard to get to a Blue Beacon when you haven't passed one in over a week.

Too many drivers, IMO. But I get a retirement check so I can wait them out longer than most others.

    Lonesome and Bumper Thank this.

Not all of us over here are doing so well. Just after Wylie started their hometime rules and ''drivers aren't suppose to be sitting because we have so much freight" b.s. over here, a friend I went thru orientation with sat at home (not by choice) for 2 3-day weekends back to back. He is supposed to be back in Laurinburg this morning so I haven't heard if they got him a weekend holiday run or if he is stuck sitting until Tuesday.

*Update - spoke to the friend I mentioned that was heading to Laurinburg...not good news for him. He wasn't given a load before Mascot went home yesterday, so he is stuck in Laurinburg until at least Tuesday since the Laurinburg plant doesn't work weekends or holidays. Needless to say, he isn't in the most upbeat mood. Told him, "call the breakdown(afterhours) and tell them you're bobtailing home (to Morristown TN)...and they can like it or lump it". What are they gonna do, fire him? He is already on the verge of shoving his truck up management's butt...at least he'd be closer to Mascot to chuck them the keys

So you guys don't get weekend pay either? We almost always get weekend loads therefore we are guaranteed 800 miles on the weekend. I've only been paid that while sitting a couple times but it helps.

Well, I am sitting in S FL. Instead of running down the east coast of FL and stopping in the hurricane danger zone, I chose to come down the west side of the state and pull up short in Ft. Myers today, let this thing start north, then run across Alligator Alley and deliver on Weds. This customer is particular about appointments, so getting there early isn't an option. I got to the Love's in N Ft. Myers before noon and I got the last open spot. Truckerpath shows a rest area with a large truck parking area 40ish miles from my customer so I move over there tomorrow after I hear from my DM verifying that my customer is gonna be open for sure. This hurricane didn't hit Miami, so they shouldn't be closed, but with all the uncertainty about this suckers path, a lot of people evacuated just in case...we shall see.
