Yup. Miss his commentary. He had some useful advice. There are some others like @Shaggy @markstevens @GLB and @ACCH130 that have dropped off over the years as well. Fortunately I talk to them weekly over Facebook. Shaggy even called me once.Shaggy, Radman, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this.

There’s not much of a shoulder. Where there’s grass is the end of the pavement. He got his trailer tires off the road and lost control. You got to be on your game on that stretch can’t be screwing around. 109 1 hr south of La Junta CO.Last edited: Sep 28, 2019

Then call your nearest local and get it started.

Call a local, or you can find another company to work for. This isn't the Soviet Bloc, YET.
You still have choices.GhentSaintPeters and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
I hesitate to ask WHAT he called you...!!

It'll be a little humiliating at first. But you will be a better driver. My teacher was buttermilk, no mercy whatsoever, started on icy mountain roads.
I think you're nuts going to trip pay from hourly. Every problem -traffic jam, breakdowns, waiting long to load/unload- comes out of your pocket.
I've been tanker trip pay several times, the work is okay but the pay can suck. It's a way of maki g a driver absorb costs.
From your posts you could thrive in food service, and you'd be a valuable hauling asset so you could choose a good company.
Or if you want to take it easier, look at Martin Brower or postal contract runs, both are active but with rolling loads, some MB terminals are union.
Or there's cryo, tanker of safe material, hourly pay, but likely cameras.
I am so frustrated about finding good work I was going to ask about hring where you work...
misterG, road_runner, Cardfan89 and 2 others Thank this.
