I am not a fan when companies make a blanket rule for the entire company because a few abuse PC.

I agree. Moore's policy is on an individual basis, they can turn mine off if I abuse it. I hope that policy continues

In some instances ' blanket rules ' can prevent a lawsuit
    from arising

But 99% of the time it's just ######### combined with laziness and ignorance.

Tuesday we will officially be merged and integrated into Wylie. I watched Moore's latest video about more of the 'no changes for drivers' changes and all I have to say is, thankfully I got a chance to swap to an APU truck. I hope that these APU's never break down (yea right, it's a Thermo King, installed in Knoxville). They will begin setting the idle limit for ALL trucks to 3 minutes. Non-APU trucks will be allowed to idle under 25 degrees and over 70 degrees. APU trucks will idle under 25 degrees and over 100 degrees. No mention of battery voltage. Which means, drivers of non-APU trucks that use an inverter to prepare their own food in attempt to save money and eat healthier will now no longer be able to do so...all in the name of saving money for the management...and if my APU dies, who knows how long it'll take them to get it fixed. I took a driver to a motel last week that was sick. He said that his almost new APU hasn't had a/c since he was assigned the truck (new hire, has only been here 4 or 5 months), and Mascot was reluctant to get it repaired on the road, they were insisting that it be brought to Knoxville for work, but dispatch wasn't making any effort to get him there.

No mention of any changes to the PC option of our logbook.

Looks like I need to change the title of the thread to "The decline and fall of Moore Freight Service"

I've had a tk tripak for 3+yrs and only one time has it been down due to mechanical issue which was the fuel pump...been very reliable..

Likewise, the times I had a Tripak APU, it only failed because of fuel pump issues. With that said, why in the blue hell didn’t that driver put his foot down and say ‘next load is to Knoxville or I stay put’. They can’t make you drive without AC or heating, especially if the APU don’t work.

His truck's A/C still worked and they haven't started limiting the idle just yet, so he just ran the truck. Plus he is still new enough to the company I am guessing that he didn't want to make too many waves.

I think it all depends on who installs and how the APU is maintained. The one I had at Crete was a plain old tripac (before they came out with the Evolution version). It wasn't bad for 7000 or so hours, but then it would have an overheating problem, then an electrical problem, then started randomly shutting down for some reason (tripacs didn't have a computer with diagnostics). Magnum's Evolution was good most if the time, but it had to have it' a/c fixed twice and a wiring harness replaced because of a defective routing. Big G's TK did o.k. but every time it started it sputtered and bucked like a diesel in sub-zero temps. A lot of our Evolutions over here are having issues. No one put any kind of thread lock on the case bolts so the case pannels are coming loose or falling off. We have also had issues with the a/c system and a fair number of coolant leaks, and these things aren't a year old yet. Plus the Anthem driver complain about the fact that when the installed them, they didn't tie the blower duct into the trucks vent system, so they only have 1 vent right at the floor and it can't keep up during the day. Mine is tied into my Pinnacle's sleeper duct and it will freeze you out if you want.

If apu dies or no apu and they wont let you idle cook in the truck anyways after a couple jump starts theyll change their idle policy
