Many are hoping that with the inevitable increase in driver turnover this will cause that Daseke will finally have had enough of this leadership's incompetence and show them the door and put someone else in here more qualified.

As long as leadership is turning a profit, I highly doubt anything will change. To these people, driver turnover is part of doing business.Western flyer, Itsbrokeagain, Eldiablo and 3 others Thank this.

Therin lies the problem...they're activating idle limits because fuel expense. They're trying to find a way to keep their jobs because they aren't making a profit. Daseke has been on them because their costs of advertising, hiring and training drivers has skyrocketed since Mr Moore left, and Daseke doesn't like what they're seeing. They have been fighting and delaying layovers, #####ing about idle time and hesitating on stuff like alignments and on the road engine services because they are not profitable. They had to start doing back hauls because the rates have dropped so much, they can't afford the normal deadhead costs associated with hauling glass. And the worst is yet to come. They say between Nov and next spring the big changes are coming. I turned just over 6000 paid miles in September...drivers are sitting around days between loads at most locations just burning fuel.

Uff.
You can really freeze your kiester off at 26 degrees.
Next time you're in the boss's office, if he should happen to step out, disconnect the wires in the thermostat.Aamcotrans, Eldiablo, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That is genuine bullpuckey. You’re making more then mega drivers but, it’s a far cry from the miles you got at the beginning. Any hope that Wylie will be better or is glass just that f’d atm?
-
Wylie claims they want their trucks running a minimum of 400 miles a day and push their Ops department to do their best to achieve that. But...being an outside company basically forced on them, most of us expect that we'll be treated like the red headed step child and get the table scraps from the loads the regular Wylie drivers don't want.

Yes , glass has gone down hill probably last 4-5 months.

In typical Tennessee fashion. This Wylie merger is a total fuster cluck. Most of the payroll people, our HR lady, the one lady doing recruiting, the front desk receptionist were all abruptly let go and they are talking about getting rid of some of the long term safety personnel, plus one of the dispatchers walked(his choice, not terminated). Of course, no one has said a word to us mushrooms out here...we just can't get ahold of people when we try to call. And one of our drivers out in Cali said that his PC disappeared. I spoke to another driver and he said that his was still active, so it might be a malfunction. I am in Canada, so I don't know if mine is there or not. Needless to say, this is gonna cause some major temper tantrums and I would venture a guess that there will be plenty of empty trucks in Mascot by the end of the month.
