I'm planning to apply to them. I'll be happy to put your name on the app if you PM me. Any idea whether it's better to run out of Mission or Clovis? Or does it matter?

I've only been to the Clovis, NM terminal, and not the new Mission, TX terminal. Though I have taken a load out of McAllen, TX. But, that was before the new terminal opened up.

Citrus juice is hauled out of south Texas and milk is hauled from around Clovis. I know we go to Dalhart, TX almost daily and that there are local drivers in Clovis who work as loaders bringing back milk loads back to the terminal.

West coast regional might work for you, too, as there are loads going from Hermiston, Oregon to Aurora, CO hauling organic milk.

That would be perfect since I live in Aurora.

When I was there last, I was offloaded in a timely fashion. It was an usual load, too, in that the load was reconsigned twice.

The load was originally destined for an ice cream plant in Kansas, then that consignee decided they didn't want the load because it was going to be late or some such reason. I was a hundred or so miles east of Denver on 70 when I was told to halt. An hour or so later, I was told to deliver the load to King Soopers, which I did.

I recall the dispatcher telling me to hurry there before the load is reconsigned somewhere else. And that I did.

I like delivering milk or cream since it is usually offloaded more quickly. More than once I have put in a 34 hour restart waiting for apple juice to be offloaded.

Talked to GTS today. They told me don't hire from Colorado. I didn't mention the tanker magazine with their ad that shows Colorado as part of their hiring area.

Talked to Indian River too. They sound really good, but their benefits for me and the missus are 50% higher than QC, which is one of my only gripes about them.

Talked to Crete. They have a dedicated Walmart reefer job that would keep me in Mountain Time all the time. Pay is very good, 54 - 82 cpm, depending on length of run. Benefits are half what I'm paying now.

Waiting to hear from a couple others.

Crete seems most likely at this point, but I'm going to wait a week or so to think about things. Like, do I really want to wear shorts and sandals in the snow, and how much does one of those half gallon refillable drink jug/cup things cost, and which is better, Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke?

They get home every night, though, right? For most people that's a good thing, but not for me.

@Bud A. If you want to be out for weeks you can always go extraboard with Estes. @KaoMinerva currently works there.

Dont forget to wear your headset inside everywhere you go cause that reminds everybody your a trucker while your waiting for the 3 for 2.50 tornodos to get hot on the rollers. Things to consider abd please wear calf high socks with your 2 strap sandels it really finishes the look. But best of luck. Ever looked into getting on with wal-mart i know you said mainly tanker but i hear they pay well and might have route that works for ya. Also guessing they are up yer butt about everything.

Thanks for the reminder about the headset and the socks! I'd forgotten that part!

I've made a decision but I'm going to wait until I have a chance to tell my dispatcher before I say more about it. You never know who's reading posts here, and I've posted enough elsewhere for them to figure it out if they really want to.
