Unfortunately, these cases were not uncommon in California a few years ago. A DA who made his election bid on coming down on deadbeat dads...
If we spent the same energy going after real deadbeat dads, we might get somewhere. -

My ex tried this argument when we divorced. unfortunately, for him, the judge didn't see it his (my exes) way.
Little back story...When my ex and I began dating, I was 5 months pregnant...he knew this. When I gave birth, he is the one who chose to claim my son as his own, signed the birth certificate as the father (the birth dad had died in a car accident.), and raise him as his son.
When we divorced, he told the judge, "I should not have to pay child support for her ba&^%#d son, he's not even mine!"
To which the judge replied, "Did you, sir, know this child was NOT yours BEFORE his birth? Yes, you did.
Did you WILLINGLY sign the childs birth cert.? Yes, you did.
Did you agree to raise him as your son, and be committed to him as a father? Yes, you did.
And now, you will be upheld in that commitment. You WILL pay child support for him!"
I understand that this mans story is different, though.

I totally agree with you. There's a difference between not being the father and never having been in the child's life versus not being the father and having been a primary caregiver for years. In the latter case, I totally agree with requirements to pay child support.
The cases I mentioned in California, the "father" was someone who happened to have the same name that had never met the mother before. And they had multiple cases where that happened.simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
I still believe family courts are biased against men, and many seem to be bordering on persecution, especially those with bleeding heart judges. I would hold the entire state of Georgia guilty of manslaughter if this guy ever commits suicide and bleed them dry if I were his family members.

If he signed the childs birth-certificate then he should pay,but this does not sound to be the case..Here in Ga. it is more often you are guilty until proven otherwise. In many counties here men are persecuted ,prosecuted at the whim of some avenging DA that sees them as easy targets to get his conviction rate up. One man I know has trouble everytime his ex-wife moves and makes false claims against him. Then he has to go through another big mess to clear his name again by getting out all of his old receipt's & canceled checks. Why wont they do something about his ex making false allegations again & again?? This is one of many reasons that I'am glad my Wife & I have been married all these years.....

And that is why I am single with no will to even think about a relationship...

It's even worse than that in Kansas. If you even date a woman who already has children, the state can and will charge you child support for her children. She has no say in it.

This, I find hard to believe, no matter the state.
Can you please provide a link?

Sorry, I do not believe this.
When you date, you are not legally bound.
