That would be nice but the reality is the gulf coast and east coast ports can't handle any additional volume.

If you could see the equipment, drivers, and safety conditions these 1099 port drivers are running you'd think otherwise. These guys get taken to the cleaner's so the can be " entrepreneurs " and it keeps what could be well paying job, a joke. In no way shape or form are they really "owner ops " just knuckle heads who get taken advantage of. This has been proven by the numerous law suits and shut downs over the past few years.Western flyer, roshea, 86mechanic and 1 other person Thank this.

It isn't the government's, federal state or local, place or responsibility to protect people from their own bad judgement. As for junk equipment, dot regs should be enforced and junk needs put out of service till it's actually fixed. But that's a completely separate discussion.
