The Truckers’ Report flatbed Hall of Shame.

I got an old drop deck that I put a dove tail and ramps on. 42 inch deck height so it's a pretty steep climb. I can't count the number of times I've had a track break free and all you can do is cut the throttle and hope she goes back down the ramps instead of over the side.

 

Saw a hotshot driver today he had some kind of small farm tractor with a front loader on his trailer and only 1 chain over the front bucket and that was it LOL

 

We use a lot of high beavertail trailers in the woods, and some of the logging equipment is 12 wide, I know exactly what you are talking about. lol

 

I see that kind of stuff all the time, but not usually actual hot shot hands, but guys hauling their own stuff.
you would not believe how many high dollar 4 wheelers I see scattered all over the highway ever year, because guys thing those mickey mouse 1 in straps are actually made to tie something down with. lol

 

Always set ur brakes b4 getting distracted, cuz u may just end up rolling down a ditch, into the woods, in a van, down by the river!

Seems like a few bounces along the highway, the chain is going to slip under the tire and be loose.... Thoughts?

 

Maybe clean up the 5 copies of the same pictures. I was about to say it was fine, but then I saw how it was just pulling at the point where the tire meets the deck. You might pull against tires, but this is beyond stupid.

 

Be interesting to see how he has the front chained?

 

Far as I'm concerned that is not secure at all. Course I don't know nothin' from nothin'.

Near miss ‘hall of shame’ load. The second time I’ve refused a load. I had the feeling way before even getting to the yard it was going to be a mess. I brought my dad with me to see what bad days look like in the flatbed business. I was going to tell them to forget it when the first stacks of half rails when on, but he said we should see how it looks when it’s all done. They had me way overweight before everything was even loaded. My air gauge on the trailer was pegged at 100# when 88# at the most is legal. Plus there was no scale. Then as you can see the timber was sticking over the sides. The loader had mentioned throwing all my straps over then shoving the bundles together. That may work in the yard, but from past experience I know it does not hold while traveling. Also I’d guess it’s hard on the straps when they’re tight to have a forklift trying to roll the bundles flat.
