The lungs are my limiting factor now. Can't catch a full breath, worse if I sit up or lay on my side. The lungs are starting to shut down.
Palliative care best works if I can go a week between blood transfusions, but the need is at least twice a week. Tomorrow I will get out of the hospital, with my fluids topped off, into the care of a highly regarded hospice company. They will provide ambulance transportation home, provide a bed and all medical equipment, and provide a nurse 24/7. When the time gets closer to meeting my Lord they will move me to a home that is set up for full hospice care.
All in all I'm in good hands. Most of the bucket list is done. My OKC brother is running a few more errands.
It's been a great life.LtlAnonymous, Sirscrapntruckalot, MACK E-6 and 5 others Thank this. -
Hospice is a good choice. They'll do everything they can, not only for you but for your family, to make your last days as normal and comfortable as possible.
My wife is in hospice now and I don't know how we would have given her the level of care she's getting without their help.
Your brothers sound like good guys. Don't forget, you have brothers here too, lots of them, and this place won't be the same without you.
Thank you for being here and God speed.Sirscrapntruckalot, Rugerfan, MACK E-6 and 9 others Thank this. -
Mr. @Lepton1 ... I am sorry I can't find the right words right now.. we will miss you here but I know you will be in a good place moving on in your journey... I hear peace in your words and a feeling that you have accomplished your mission in this world... God bless you sir... now and always... You will be remembered here with appreciation and respect.... I pray that you don't suffer much more than you have already... and that you go in peace... in God's time...
