I agree one hundred percent. I noticed that they did not increase the amount of alcohol testing. It really shows the narrative they are trying to push. I've always said if alcohol is legal, then everything else should be too. They're all capable of impairment so why does alcohol get the pass? All or nothing with any drug is my mind frame. Let's face it folks. All the other gripes people gave about trucking, it ain't changing. They obsess over drugs too much.

Alcohol is not getting a pass. The percentage of those to be tested for alcohol follows the same procedures as the drug testing. Currently 10% of drivers have to be tested and as long as the positive rate stays low will remain at 10%. When I first started driving it was 25% and I think it was in the late 90s that it dropped to 10%.

For me, it's not about the random test, per se, it's about the random location they send you to. You'll see what I mean the next time you are in a big city and they tell you to go to the Minute Clinic to take a whiz test and there is no place to park and you now have less than an hour to figure it out, or you are automatically considered positive.
    Good luck

Understood. I only said that because of the 10 percent. Why not double it up all the way around? Also, outside of trucking, alcohol gets a major pass. People can drink within moderation, have been able to for years. All other street drugs, for most other states is a no go...I've been the drinker and I've been the drug user. They all impaired me. To me it should be all under umbrella.

Especially when it comes to hair follicle testing, I've heard that even though it looks further back than Urine testing, it's also more inaccurate. In other words, a hair follicle is more likely to have a false positive.

That actually happened to me. What’s worse these bozos sent me to an urgent care in the downtown area. Luckily I met the nicest officer that manage to guide me to a little temporary hidey hole a couple blocks away while I get the test. What’s worse the safety bozo actually told me they had big truck parking only to find a fenced lot with a 8 foot clearance bar. Boy did I gave him a piece of my mind that day:mad:
