You don’t want to go through there now either. They have it all torn up with construction.

I love being in a 18 wheeler in storm conditions. Its better than a car or 4x4 and I own a 4x4 myself. I don't bother taking that one out. But it is there in case it needs it.

This applies to older iron, not necessarily new trucks that get stuck and spin out in 3 inches of slush.

Don’t let it shake you you will be alright for sure.
One thing you should do though is get that tow truck wired up with cameras.
Get some of these fools on video and then send law enforcement after them.
Law enforcement takes a very dim view when idiots endanger the lives of emergency response personnel try to do their jobs.

You'll get used to it. In time. It won't even bother you. And you'll be handling like a pro.

    It could be worse.

I drive through a construction zone. 6 times a day. Going north is no big deal. But with the southern sun. You can't even make out the southbound lanes anymore. They lanes have been moved a zillion times.

This year. I've been hit twice and had 10 very close calls.
Last month. There were actually 2 semi's that rolled over. Within 5 days.
