After leaving the scale house - plans got changed.
Delivery address was changed to 30 miles from the original.
This is where the Christmas Cards come in handy. I always send my permit company staff that I deal with a few Jacksons every year with a thank you card. It pays off.
Call in with new address - proposed route. Within 30 minutes it's in the email, about the same time as I call to follow up - within 2 miles of where I would have turned on my original permit, and been royally screwed. Have the permit company read me the new route, turn and proceed.
The next incoming call was to cancel delivery that day and come in the following day. GREAT. After passing all options for parking, a rest area was selected. Problem - rest area full at 2pm. Pull into passenger vehicle side, cuddle up against kerb, away from building - call local authorities to check I'm OK parking here with few options available.
Send escort off.
Next incoming call - "Can you be here Today? "
Call escort back (after he's just booked a room). Check permits - county curfews can't be beat - call escort back and tell him to check back in again. Call receiver and apologize that 2 miracles is the daily limit - see you in the morning!
Fun stuff. However - the first load delivered for 2020.
The journey begins - purchased a truck.

Yes sir, I got a level 3 last night and the other driver got the level 2. I walked in with everything together and in order, didn't have to dig through anything to give what was asked. Took about 15 minutes and I was on my way. I guess they figured the truck might be in good shape since the paperwork was.

And if they're not in the best of moods, they might just rake them over the coals for poops and giggles.
Fairly easy to have everything in order just in case the time comes for scrutiny . . .Tug Toy, RStewart and Elroythekid Thank this. -

Hey Blair, great video. Check out the YouTube video on Spooner Trucking. Its 2 hours long but very interesting. In the first minute they talk about being legendary or what it means to be a legend as someone that inspires others. That's you! Lots of great stories in your thread.
