Holiday - Who’s running today?

Me pick me I had 18,000lbs today and 13 stops

 

Dayton Freight works today. My flight leaves as scheduled tonight.

 

I'm loaded outta Dayton, going to stay at the company terminal for a 10, then run overnight to Tennessee.

MLK day for me is generally a non-event. I haven't had it off since I worked for the USPS.

 

I didn't even think about it until I was halfway to work and noticed I hadn't seen any FxF trucks pass me going the other way like usual. Got my hopes up that we were actually closed and I could just go home. But nope, our yard and dock was packed with freight. I don't know if it's because we're still catching up from poor weather last week or if it's because a lot of customers were closed for deliveries today, but it kept me busy.

 

Martin Luther King is one of those icons that resonates in the South. Back in Montana most businesses would not recognize the holiday.

With that said, the crap you got to look out for are deliveries or pickups to military bases and other federally owned buildings. They honor every single friggin Federal holiday.

 

I worked, holiday+hours lol

 

I don't see holidays as any different with two exceptions. Christmas and Forth.
