I think my truck only burns about 3/4 a gallon per hour idling but it still costs more than $10.
That's what I don't like about these knew motors. The old Detroit 12.7s would go way past a million miles and we never turned them off until we got back to the yard to go home. They would run for 7-10 days straight. Best motor ever built.

Cummins says you shouldn't. They say keep idle to a min tikl you get everything seated.

Oh I'm sure it is by now. Still not gonna idle the truck till I go back in for my overhead. Even then that's why I paid 10 grand for an apu lol

Guess you never made an mistake huh. I've been in - weather all winter not once did I jell up without idling. It was only -2 I was in -11 earlier and didn't idle.mladen86 Thanks this.
