@Ruthless you covered that one lol.
Seems most (not all) 24hr places are steel.
But seem like most places are done by 3pm - 4pm.
As always there are exceptions to these. Just my opinion.ramblingman and Iron-Man Thank this. -
I can think of ALCOA in IN that's 24 hrs. But in general we work daylight

Why even go to a 24 hour shipper?

Outside of the steel industry, they are rare. I have never encountered one that doesn't do steel of some sort.
I'm trying to remember if Weyerhauser in Saskatachewan was 24hrs or not. For the life of me I cannot. -
Alcoa Aluminum typically loads around the clock, and I've found two or three places that unload on the third shift in the past 2.5 years of flatbedding.
Outside of those specific plants, most flatbedding pretty much works "bankers hours". It's one of the advantages to doing open deck work for many of us, we have better control over our schedules. As as example, I'm almost completely solar powered as a driver. I generally start my day between 5:30 and 6:00 AM, and try to be parked before 7:00 PM. In my preferred area, I usually have good luck finding a safe parking spot.
